This is the personal blog of Charles Schimmelpfennig. I am a software developer that works with C#, TypeScript, Angular, and Azure for money, and with Haskell, and Linux for myself.
Posts here include topics such as programming, art/theory/semiotics of programming, music, cooking, kombucha, and general navel-gazing.
The name “etaoin.sh” is a reference to “etaoin shrdlu”. Hot-type type-setting keyboards were arranged in order of descending frequency with 6 letters per column, the first two columns spelling “etaoin shrdlu”. Letter frequency is also an important in code-breaking to make guesses at what certain letters correspond to. It’s fun to say, “eh-tao-in sure-duh-loo”.
You can find my code projects on GitHub
I sometimes make ambient, microhouse, and experimental electronic music.
This website is a no-JS static site built with Hakyll. I designed the colorscheme to be easy on the eyes for extended reading and mirrors the colorscheme on my desktop.
